Introductory Letter...

Hi, my name is Perry Penick and I have been studying and investing in the stock markets and in particular the precious metals market for about ten years now, and this site is intended as a reflection to the education and experience that I have gained during that time. My education in this field of study is neither formal nor particularly lengthy by comparison to many, and I recognize numerous sources and people with considerable more experience than I to which I both refer and defer to their various opinions and publications. For anyone wishing to further their education beyond the writings on these pages, I encourage you to do so by following the attached links to the various sites and articles I've noted.

That said, what I do have is simply ten years of investing in silver and gold, reading available and related material on the web and a steady diet of financial books relating to stocks, macroeconomics and trading psychology. I also posses a certain amount of stubbornness, simple intelligence and a sense of humor towards making sense of things, which alongside ten years of putting money on the table, so to speak, and seeing what happens, is perhaps the most direct education there is. In addition, I also have a lot of hours in researching the silver market in particular, and have attempted to organize the available resources on the web and elsewhere for your consideration and to save you the time, if that is where your focus leads you.

I decided to create this site for a couple of reasons.  The first was / is to simply consolidate a reference source for answering common questions about silver - why silver, what silver, where silver and so on, so that I can answer these types of questions for people in a more comprehensive way and also to be able to address more than a single person at a time.  The second reason is more philosophical, in that after significant study, I am of the opinion that monetary metals as representative of a commodity base underpinning the financial markets are a healthy influence and will become a greater aspect of our current system as time goes on. As such, I have created this site as a resource to educate and support that transition from the current debt based system to one based more on sounder principles. The way I see it, is that education, even the most basic, is the only real response to what I consider the imbalance(s) of our system, and my effort here is to simply provide a floor of financial understanding for the average person so that they may find their own conclusions and actions. As such, I endeavor to write at a level that is understood by the majority of people, and accept that some may find the material overly simplified and others overly complex. Finally, be assured that whatever the discussion, it will orient from and return to... silver, what I consider to be a very important looking glass through which to view our financial system.
